Job summary

GMP Technologies (S)Pte Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial, contractual and cost aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.

You will prepare budgets, forecasts and cost reports to ensure effective cost control, and administer BOQs, subcontracts and procurement with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant construction industry experience.
• Professional accreditation such as SISV, RICS, MRICS or CIOB is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial, contractual and cost aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare budgets, cost analyses, forecasts and cost reports for cost control.
• Prepare and administer BOQs and subcontract documentation.
• Manage procurement and tender activities including evaluation, costing, negotiations and subcontractor appointments.
• Review and negotiate contract amendments, variations and commercial matters with clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and forms of contract (PSSCOC, REDAS).
• Identify and manage commercial risks through risk, value management and cost-control measures.
• Value completed works, manage progress payments and maintain accurate commercial documentation.
• Provide commercial advice to project/site teams and maintain client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor junior QS staff and improve commercial processes.

• Manage procurement and tender activities, including tender evaluation, costing, negotiations and subcontractor appointments.
• Review and negotiate contract amendments, variations and commercial matters with clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and relevant forms of contract, including PSSCOC and REDAS.
• Identify and manage commercial risks through risk, value management and cost-control measures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience within the construction industry.
• Professional accreditation/membership such as SISV, RICS, MRICS or CIOB is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, contract administration, procurement and tender management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, numerical and commercial skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant cost-management software; AutoCAD knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and attention to detail.
