Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget. You will lead procurement strategy, tender preparation, cost reporting and tender evaluation, while reviewing variations and final accounts.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, with international travel when needed and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Recognised Degree in Quantity Surveying with good understanding of the Construction process.
• 5+ years experience in a QS consulting environment, preferably with infrastructure, container port, marine terminals or coastal development projects.
• Well versed with the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract and various Contract Conditions.
• Strong writing and communication, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior attention to detail to spot inconsistencies in contracts.
• Resourceful, independent, and a good team player with multi-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willing to travel overseas for overseas projects.

Responsibilities

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee projects from inception through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget
• Formulation of procurement strategy, preparation of tender documentations, preparation of cost reports and cost plans, administration of tender process, evaluation of tenders and submission of tender recommendation reports.
• Review variation request order, assess the associated variation costs, loss & expense claims, monthly financial report, processing of progress payment and final account
• To work closely with the Project Team providing cost and financial advice, support negotiations of claims, manage contractual changes and resolve disputes or conflict resolution with Contractors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Recognised Degree in Quantity Surveying with good understanding of the Construction process
• Possess at least 5-yearexperiencein a QS consulting environment, preferably with experience in infrastructure, container port, marine terminals or coastal development projects
• Must be well versed with thePublic Sector Standard Conditions of Contractand various types of Contract Conditions
• Has good writing and communication skills and strong negotiation and mediation skills
• Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
• Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
• Resourceful and able to work independently andasa good team player as well
• Possess excellent people skills with the ability to integrate within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willing to traveloverseas as and when required for handling of overseas projects
