Job summary

Surbana Jurong Singapore is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management across infrastructure and port projects, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule.

You will work closely with project teams, prepare tender documentation, evaluate tenders, and manage variation orders, with opportunities to travel overseas as required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Degree in Quantity Surveying and understanding of construction processes.
• At least 5 years' experience in QS consultancy, preferably with infrastructure or port/terminals projects.
• Familiar with Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract and various contract types.
• Strong writing, communication, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team.
• Willing to travel overseas as required for overseas projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Formulate procurement strategies, prepare tender documents and cost reports, and administer tender processes.
• Review variation orders, assess costs, and process progress payments and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project teams to provide cost and financial advice and resolve contract disputes with contractors.

Requirements

• Recognised Degree in Quantity Surveying with good understanding of the Construction process
• Possess at least 5-year experience in a QS consulting environment, preferably with experience in infrastructure, container port, marine terminals or coastal development projects
• Must be well versed with the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract and various types of Contract Conditions
• Has good writing and communication skills and strong negotiation and mediation skills
• Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities
• Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
• Resourceful and able to work independently and as a good team player as well
• Possess excellent people skills with the ability to integrate within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willing to traveloverseas as and when required for handling of overseas projects
