Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget. You will lead procurement strategy, tender preparation, cost reporting and tender evaluation, while reviewing variations and final accounts.

The role requires strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, with international travel when needed and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Recognised Degree in Quantity Surveying with good understanding of the Construction process.
• 5+ years experience in a QS consulting environment, preferably with infrastructure, container port, marine terminals or coastal development projects.
• Well versed with the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract and various Contract Conditions.
• Strong writing and communication, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior attention to detail to spot inconsistencies in contracts.
• Resourceful, independent, and a good team player with multi-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willing to travel overseas for overseas projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception through to completion, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
• Formulate procurement strategy, prepare tender documents, cost reports, cost plans, administer tenders and evaluate tenders.
• Review variation orders, assess variation costs, loss & expense claims, monthly financials, payments and final accounts.
• Work closely with Project Team, provide cost and financial advice, support negotiations and resolve disputes with contractors.
