Job summary

Singapore Civil Defence Force is seeking an Senior Psychologist ORP to lead resilience research and advise leaders on operational resilience. You will develop and implement initiatives to strengthen responder performance, adapt and recover under demanding emergency conditions, and provide direct support in crisis moments.

You will study resilience in real operational settings, turning findings into evidence-based programmes and tools that improve on-ground effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology required; advanced degree advantageous.
• Strong statistical analysis skills.
• Ability to translate psychological concepts for non-specialist audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead resilience research and advise SCDF leaders on operational resilience.
• Develop and implement resilience initiatives for frontline responders.
• Provide direct support to responders, including crisis intervention when needed.
• Engage with operational commanders, training units and partner agencies to coordinate resilience efforts.
• Translate research findings into practical programmes and tools with real-world impact.
• Contribute to the Emergency Psychological Sciences Department through diverse duties.
