Boys' Town in Singapore seeks an enthusiastic team member to facilitate adventure-based programs and support programme development. You will assist in planning, designing, and organizing activities, while supervising younger staff and interns to ensure safety and quality.
You will participate in training, equipment maintenance, and logs on safety procedures, with occasional evenings/weekends to meet programme needs. Passion for youth work is essential.
Facilitate various adventure-based programs, workshops and related services for a wide range of clients.
Assist Manager in planning, designing, and organizing adventure-based programmes and training materials including research and evaluation.
Assist Manager in programme development and improvement to uphold quality and relevance of BTAC programmes.
Assist Manager in developing and reviewing BTAC SOPs where necessary to ensure relevance and robustness of BTAC Operation and Safety procedures.
Work in collaboration and support with other BTAC instructional staff team to ensure smooth running of programme, providing technical support in a range of adventure-based activities which require additional instructional staff, as well as providing any necessary resource support for the programme.
Provide supervision and training for younger staff and/or interns.
Ensure equipment functionality and maintenance for the purpose of providing safety for clients.
To ensure that all equipment and/or structure certifications and usage logs are up to date in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
Responsible in overseeing the overall cleanliness and proper housekeeping of BTAC stores, structure, and activity area.
Engage in on-going professional development to increase technical knowledge and soft skills in the area of adventure learning and supporting client behaviour.
Work evenings and weekends when required to resource the programme and meet demands of the job.
Play a variety of roles to clients which includes instructor, facilitator, coach, and mentor.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the work of BTAC by maintaining professionalism in the area of staff, facilitation, programme development and resources utilization.
To provide support in some sales and marketing of the BTAC programmes when called upon or when assigned projects of such nature.
To participate actively in all fundraising activities as well as any other commitments that Boys' Town undertakes.
To work in close collaboration with other staff, department and components of Boys' Town.
The Executive Director and or his/her representative may assign you any other duties that are within reason for the benefit of the clients and/or Boys' Town.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
Minimum Diploma holder with good communications skills (spoken and written).
Minimum with a SNCS level 1/ level 2 or higher; preferably with SNAS level 1/ level 2 or higher, SCF 1-star/2-star award or higher, with a valid first aid certification.
Able to conduct basic research and/or programme evaluation.
Have a passion for active sports or outdoor adventure.
Has the passion to work with at risk youths.
Has facilitation experience in ice breakers, team building/bonding games and problem-based activities.
Has programme design experience.
Preferably has supervisory experience both operationally and clinically.
Expected to run activities such as running, hiking, swimming.
Able to perform physical task such as abseiling, natural rock climbing and sport climbing.
May be required to lead local and overseas expeditions which may involve trekking, climbing or paddling for long distances.
