Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking an experienced production support/operations engineer in Singapore. The role focuses on day-to-day issue resolution, health checks, and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams to minimize outages.

You will handle production incidents, gather data, and provide timely workarounds, while ensuring robust monitoring and DR readiness across country applications.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, JMS, Webservices and middleware
• Experience with Oracle, UNIX and IBM MQ Series
• Knowledge of resiliency and redundancy designs and capacity/performance management

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day issues including health checks of applications and processes, coordinating with end users and Infra teams
• Handle production support issues with initial response, data gathering, tracking and resolution
• Investigate production issues and provide workarounds; escalate per protocol
• Support automated application health checks, housekeeping and inter-application checks
• Monitor production activities and communicate problems to clients and tech resources
• Implement process improvements for policies, procedures and monitoring
• Identify and coordinate initiatives that improve efficiency of technical processing
• Develop and maintain relationships with staff, users and clients
• Evaluate risks and solutions before taking action; ensure timely resolution
• Perform annual Disaster Recovery exercises for multiple applications across the country
