Job summary

Paymonade is seeking a senior product manager to lead compliance and payments product initiatives in a fast-growing fintech. You will own KYC/AML, risk reviews, and end-to-end on/off-ramp flows, collaborating with engineering, compliance, and finance.

You’ll build configurable questionnaires, manage partner integrations, and use data to drive improvements in conversion and reliability across global markets. Fluency in English and 5+ years of product leadership in payments required.

Responsibilities

1. Own compliance product development and ongoing improvements.

• Translate requirements defined by Compliance—including KYC/KYB, AML, enhanced due diligence, proof of address and regulatory remediation—into user flows, data rules and operational tools. Define applicable users, triggers, review processes and exception handling.

2. Build configurable and reusable compliance capabilities.

• Improve dynamic questionnaires, risk-based workflows, reuse of existing customer data, manual reviews and audit trails. Support requirements across legal entities and markets while reducing duplicate data collection and unnecessary user steps.

3. Own the end-to-end on/off-ramp transaction journey.

• Manage the flow across checkout, identity verification, fiat collection and payouts, pricing and conversion, asset delivery, callbacks, refunds, settlement and reconciliation. Ensure consistency between order states, fund movements and business rules.

4. Lead partner integrations and launches.

• Work with digital asset platforms, payment providers and identity verification vendors. Assess API capabilities and constraints, define fields, statuses, callbacks and responsibilities, and coordinate integration testing, exception testing, real-money testing and launch acceptance.

5. Support production reliability and financial accuracy.

• Work with Engineering, Customer Support, Operations and Finance to resolve failed payments, stuck orders, delayed deliveries, refund issues and reconciliation discrepancies. Drive investigation, remediation and post-incident reviews, and improve monitoring, alerts and incident procedures.

6. Use data to improve customer and business outcomes.

• Analyze KYC conversion, payment success, transaction completion and processing times. Identify causes of user drop-off and transaction failure, deliver improvements and measure their impact. Independently manage product priorities, requirements and delivery progress.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product management experience in payments, fintech or digital assets, with ownership of a complex product or major business area from design and launch through ongoing operations.
• Experience building KYC, AML, risk review or other compliance products. Ability to clarify requirements with Compliance, distinguish mandatory requirements from implementation choices, and translate them into actionable, auditable system rules.
• A strong understanding of payment and fund flows, including the relationships between orders, payments, conversion, delivery, refunds, settlement and reconciliation. Experience designing transaction states and exception handling.
• Ability to independently review API documentation and understand asynchronous processing, webhooks, idempotency, retries and state consistency. Comfortable discussing system design, dependencies and risks with Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use SQL or analytics tools to investigate conversion and transaction issues and measure product improvements.
• Strong ownership, independent judgment and cross-functional execution skills. Able to clarify incomplete requirements, prioritize competing needs and drive issues through to resolution.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including written requirements, partner communication and meetings with international teams.

Preferred Experience

• Crypto on/off-ramps, exchange fiat products, card acquiring or SEPA payments.
• Integrations with identity verification providers such as Sumsub, or development of configurable questionnaires, risk scoring and EDD automation.
• Products serving multiple legal entities or markets, or experience in regulated financial services and digital assets in Europe.
• Financial incident management, payment success optimization, fraud prevention or chargeback management.
