Job summary

N/A is seeking a Senior Product Manager (Payments) to drive expansion, performance, and reliability of a global payments infrastructure. You will lead cross-functional teams across local payment methods, checkout optimisation, and API product design, working with engineering, partners, and business stakeholders.

The role focuses on expanding channels, managing integrations with banks and schemes, and ensuring operational excellence through robust APIs and measurable improvements in conversion

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, with a strong focus on payments. You have launched multi-country payment integrations and/or local methods at scale.
• Deep expertise in API product design, including spec writing, versioning and deprecation strategies, error modelling, idempotency, and backwards compatibility.
• Proven track record optimising payment flows for conversion and reliability, using diagnostics, A/B testing, and data-driven iteration.
• Comfortable working hands-on with processors, schemes, and network specs, and managing technical partner relationships.
• Strong business and operational acumen, including partner economics, SLAs, certification timelines, and commercial trade-offs.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written. Operates effectively as a senior individual contributor.
• Based in Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur (remote considered within GMT+7 ±2). Willing to travel up to 2 weeks per quarter

Responsibilities

• Expand channels and markets by launching country-specific rails and regional methods.
• Define prerequisites for market entry including contracts, certifications, settlements.
• Ensure a consistent merchant experience across integrations.
• Design checkout flows with smart routing, retries, capture/refund, and error handling.
• Implement funnel instrumentation and run experiments to improve conversions.
• Define and maintain API specifications, models, pagination, errors, and versioning.
• Champion developer experience via documentation, SDKs, and testable interfaces.
• Drive integrations with banks, wallets, schemes, and partners.
• Translate network and scheme specifications into scalable product capabilities.
• Reduce time from partner contracting to go-live and optimise reconciliation.
• Establish SLAs with Ops and Support.
• Contribute to 3DS/SCA, tokenisation, authentication improvements, and chargebacks.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and processing partners.
• Align stakeholders across Engineering, BD, Legal/Compliance, Risk, and external partners.
• Communicate product docs (PRDs), API specs, roadmaps, and change logs.

About the job Senior Product Manager (Payments)

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager Payments to drive the expansion, performance, and reliability of our global payments infrastructure. You will lead high-impact initiatives across local payment method integrations, checkout optimisations, and API product design working closely with engineering, partners, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Expand Channels & Markets

• Launch and scale country-specific payment rails (e.g., bank transfers, wallets, QR codes/RTP) and regional payment methods (e.g., WeChat Pay)
• Define and deliver all prerequisites for market entry, including contracts, certifications, settlement flows, and operational readiness
• Ensure a consistent and streamlined merchant experience where feasible
• Design and iterate on payment and checkout flows, focusing on smart routing, issuer/wallet-aware retries, capture/refund logic, and error handling
• Implement robust funnel instrumentation and run experiments to improve conversion rates and success metrics
• Define and maintain high-quality API specifications, including resource models, pagination, error semantics, and versioning strategies
• Champion developer experience through well-documented APIs, usable SDKs, and testable interfaces

4. Drive Integrations with Partners & Schemes

• Manage integrations and certifications with banks, wallets, schemes, and technical partners
• Translate network and scheme specifications into scalable product capabilities

5. Ensure Operational Excellence

Reduce time from partner contracting to go-live

• Enhance payment routing reliability, minimise latency, and optimise reconciliation and settlement with Finance and Treasury

Establish clear SLAs in partnership with Ops and Support teams

• Contribute to card-related initiatives, such as 3DS/SCA, tokenisation, authentication improvements, and chargeback management

Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and processing partners

• Align stakeholders across Engineering, Business Development, Legal/Compliance, Risk, and external partners
• Communicate clearly and effectively via product docs (PRDs), API specs, roadmaps, and change logs
