Job summary

Hanwha Ocean EPU seeks a Senior Topsides Process Engineering leader to drive Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) work for FPSO, FLNG and offshore facilities. You will establish technical standards, optimize workflows, and lead a team of engineers across regions to deliver safe, efficient and compliant designs.

The role requires hands-on process engineering, strong collaboration with PMTs, and travel to the US, Europe, and Asia as needed, with a focus on continuous improvement and project execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering.
• 15–20 years in offshore/onshore oil and gas industries.
• 7–10 years with FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor.
• 1–2 FPSO EPCI projects from engineering to sail-away/delivery.
• 1 FPSO FEED/EPCI project experience as Project Lead - Topside Process.
• Hands-on process engineering in FPSO/Offshore EPCI; including simulations.
• Experience with process simulation tools (HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipe-net).
• Strong communication and leadership with multitasking ability.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop corporate technical standards, procedures, and workflows for Topsides Process engineering.
• Manage topside process resources and monitor project progress with PMTs.
• Maintain the Lessons Learnt database and share insights across teams.
• Serve as Project Discipline Lead - Topside Process with hands-on responsibility.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate of this position will have a strong leadership and background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, an expert in Topsides Process Engineering, and provide strategic focus in the Topsides Process Engineering for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities.

Responsibilities

• Takes lead to develop corporate technical standards/procedures, workflow, engineering platform (e.g. process design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lessons Learnt.
• Manages all topside process resources and monitor feasibility studies/FEED/EPCI project progress to assign appropriately competent resource to each prospective/ongoing project as per the close communication with Project Management Teams (PMTs).
• Custodian of Lessons Learnt database for Project execution and Operation & Maintenance phases and disseminate them to all project teams to ensure agile preventive or mitigative actions and design standardization.
• Acts as Project Discipline Lead - Topside Process concurrently and therefore, the candidate requires hands-on topside process engineering experience.
• Reports to Head of Process Discipline and update area of concerns, project manning plan, project progress and forecasts periodically (e.g. weekly basis) and attend corporate periodic meeting (e.g. weekly).
• Provide technical guidance and career development for each engineer/designer and provides opportunities to attend international conferences, training courses etc. This role may require travel to the US, Europe, and Asia if necessary. The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based at India/Seoul/Houston and other locations as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for offshore projects in the future.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 to 20 years' experience and above in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry.
• Minimum consecutive 7 to 10 years' experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor (minimum 7 to 10 years' working experience in the same contractor).
• Minimum 1 to 2 FPSO EPCI Project experience from the beginning of project (engineering) until the sail-away to site or delivery of FPSO.
• Minimum 1 FPSO FEED/EPCI Project experience as a Project Lead - Topside Process including Topsides Process Conceptual / Feasibility Studies.
• Hands-on process engineering experience in FPSO or Offshore EPCI projects, especially process simulation (steady state, dynamic), HB/MB, utility consumption, blowdown/flarenet studies, hydraulic calculation, line sizing, equipment sizing, control narrative, HAZOP or Technical Safety Action Close-out etc.
• Hands-on Field Engineering in Construction phase or Onshore/Offshore commissioning experience is value-added.
• The experience or familiarity with Zero carbon emission, CCUS technology, etc. is value-added.
• Versed with Process Engineering Tool such as Aspen HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipe-net or equivalent and ability to interpret result of process simulation.
• Extensive knowledge of process engineering practices, principles, industry codes and standards- as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving with capacity to manage corporate functions as well.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work with and to communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients and manage multiple priorities.
• Fluent in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
