Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore seeks an engineer to support system stability and long-term planning for the electricity grid. You will review transmission planning criteria, conduct power system studies, and assess how new developments affect grid reliability.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and collaboration with licensees and stakeholders to ensure a secure, reliable power supply for the public service.

Qualifications

• Experience with power system studies such as load flow, contingency, fault level and stability analyses is preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission network planning, system impact assessments or grid connection studies is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review transmission network development plans to ensure compliance with planning criteria and secure operation of the electricity system.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, contingency, fault level, stability) to assess network performance.
• Assess impacts of new transmission developments, generation facilities, imports and major consumers on the system.
• Review studies and technical submissions from licensees and stakeholders for grid planning.
• Support development and review of transmission planning criteria, standards and grid connection requirements.
• Assist integration of new transmission technologies and energy storage into the system.
• Contribute to long-term transmission network planning and reliability assessments.
• Liaise with licensees and stakeholders on planning and assessment matters.
