Job summary

The Singapore Public Service’s System Stability and Planning Department seeks engineers to review transmission network development plans and perform advanced power system studies to ensure the electric grid remains safe and reliable. Qualifications

• Relevant engineering background or specialization.
• Knowledge or experience in power system studies and analysis is advantageous.
• Experience in transmission network planning is advantageous.
• Experience integrating renewables and energy storage technologies is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess transmission network development plans for compliance and reliable operation.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, contingency, fault level, stability) to assess performance.
• Assess impact of new transmission developments, generation, imports, and major consumers.
• Review planning studies, system impact assessments, and submissions from licensees and stakeholders.
• Support development and review of transmission planning criteria and grid connection requirements.
• Support assessment and integration of new transmission technologies (ESS, HVDC, emerging tech).
• Support long-term planning and technical assessments for reliability, adequacy, and resilience.
• Liaise with licensees and stakeholders on planning, grid connection, and power system matters.
