Job summary

Energy Market Authority (EMA) in Singapore is seeking an engineer to strengthen system planning and reliability for the national grid. You will review transmission plans, perform power system studies, and assess impacts of new developments and imports on grid stability and security.

The role emphasizes collaboration with licensees and stakeholders, development of planning criteria, and exploring emerging technologies such as energy storage and HVDC to enhance resilience.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering background in electrical engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of power system studies or analysis is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess transmission network development plans for compliance and reliable operation.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, contingency, fault level, stability) to assess performance.
• Assess impacts of new developments, imports, generation facilities and ESS on the system.
• Review planning studies, system impact assessments and technical submissions from stakeholders.
• Support development and review of planning criteria, standards and grid connection requirements.
• Support integration of new transmission technologies and solutions (ESS, HVDC, etc.).
• Support long-term transmission planning and reliability assessments.
• Liaise with licensees and stakeholders on planning, grid connection and assessment matters.
