Job summary

Alexandra Hospital is seeking a Physiotherapist to assess and manage patients referred for physiotherapy. Under supervision, you will assist in clinical supervision, research, professional education and induction.

You will document records, supervise staff and students, and participate in multidisciplinary discussions. The role requires a recognised degree in physiotherapy, solid communication skills, and 1–3 years of relevant experience with AHPC registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients referred for physiotherapy under supervision and implement treatment plans.
• Document patient records accurately and maintain privacy.
• Accurately charge patients and update performance statistics.
• Comply with clinical standards and SOPs.
• Supervise Therapist Assistants in the workgroup.
• Assist with induction of new physiotherapists in the workgroup.
• Supervise students on clinical attachments.
• Seek clinical support from supervisors when appropriate.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members in multidisciplinary discussions.
• Assist or co-lead projects assigned to the workgroup.
• Manage and oversee therapy equipment inventory.
• Review and update clinical protocols and SOPs.
• Assist in developing, promoting and marketing new clinical services.
• Contribute to in-service training and hospital talks/workshops/seminars.
• Actively update physiotherapy knowledge and skills.

The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients referred for physiotherapy. Under supervision, assist in areas such as clinical supervision, research, professional education and induction.

Job Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients referred for physiotherapy independently and implement appropriate treatment plans

• Document patient physiotherapy records accurately

• Charge patients accurately and update individual performance statistical records regularly

• Comply with clinical and service standards

• Supervise Therapist Assistants in the workgroup

• Assist with induction of new physiotherapists deployed to the workgroup

• Supervise students on clinical attachment

• Practice within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate

• Collaborate with other healthcare members and participate in multidisciplinary discussions.

• Assist and/or co-lead in projects assigned to the workgroup

• Manage and oversee therapy equipment inventory

• Review and update clinical protocols and SOPs

• Assist in developing, promoting and marketing new clinical services

• Contribute to departmental in-service training programs, hospital educational talks and external talks / workshops / forums / seminars
