Job summary

Ng Teng Fong General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will assist pharmacists in processing orders, labeling and distributing medications, and maintaining stock levels. The role includes billing responsibilities and ensuring proper documentation for deliveries.

The incumbent will work under supervision, support inventory control, and help provide excellent patient and departmental service while orienting new staff and supporting hospital activities.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in pharmacy-related fields as listed.
• Relevant experience preferred for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in processing inpatient and outpatient medication orders.
• Type, pack, label, and distribute drug supplies to wards and departments.
• Perform billing and ensure cost/revenue are recovered for stocked items.
• Dispense medicines under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels of drugs.
• Receive, unpack and check deliveries against documents.
• Perform stock receipts and issues in FIFO order.
• Assist in providing quality customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and prepare for daily operations.
• Assist in orientating new staff and participate in hospital activities.

The incumbent is responsible to:

• Assist the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for inpatient and outpatient dispensing which includes typing, packing, labelling and distribution of drug supplies to the wards and other hospital departments
• Perform billing functions and ensure that cost and revenue of all stocks supplied are recovered
• Dispenses medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Monitor and maintain inventory stock level of drugs in the areas of work
• Receive, unpack and check deliveries against the appropriate documents, to ensure that items supplied are correct and accounted for
• Perform stock receipts and issues strictly in FIFO order
• Assist in providing quality customer service
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work areas and prepare these for daily operations
• Assist in orientating new staff assigned to the section
• Supports the hospital by participating actively in the various activities organized by the hospital

Job Requirements:

• Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Course or a Diploma in Biomedical Science (Specialization in Pharmaceutical Science Technology) or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and relevant experience
• Able to work staggered shift duties
