- Define, develop, prove and deploy the manufacturing process for new products and implement continuous improvement projects to achieve product yield, throughput, efficiency, scrap and quality targets.
- Responsible for manufacturing process documentation and for reviewing and approving the processes implemented on the production line.
- End‑to‑end manufacturing ownership: ensure all changes to product, processes, materials, etc. are under change control and follow established QMS requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing teams to execute, improve and sustain the manufacturing processes and to meet design for manufacturing (DFM) guidelines.
- Collaborate with the quality team for planning and execution of qualification testing.
- Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Automate all manufacturing processes, where possible.
- Engage with equipment selection, create the statement of purpose, and work with suppliers and stakeholders in developing the algorithm, machine hardware and software from buy‑off to release in manufacturing.
Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field, plus 7 years experience in high‑volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- In‑depth technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in design, development, selection, implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials and methodologies for the optical assemblies.
- Expertise in one or more of the optical transceiver assembly processes, such as wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, product testing, burn‑in, etc.
- Expertise in data analysis, statistical process control (SPC) and report generation.
- In‑depth understanding of the quality management system and quality standard requirements.
- Data query and data analysis skills with use of statistical tools and techniques.
- Expertise in optics FA processes and tools.
