Job summary

Citadel Search is seeking an experienced Active Alignment Process Engineer to develop and optimize optical alignment processes for Optical Transceiver manufacturing. You will drive process performance, support new product introductions, and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure quality and reliability.

Responsibilities include building alignment recipes, defining SOPs, improving yield and throughput, investigating failures, and supporting NPI and mass production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in optical assembly, precision alignment, semiconductor packaging, or photonics manufacturing.
• Experience with optical transceiver manufacturing is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Active Alignment principles and optical coupling mechanisms.
• Experience in process development, recipe optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with SPC, DOE, and process capability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and optimize Active Alignment processes for optical transceiver products.
• Establish and maintain alignment recipes, process parameters, and SOPs.
• Optimize optical coupling performance, process repeatability, and manufacturing throughput (UPH).
• Drive improvements in yield, alignment accuracy, equipment utilization, process stability, and cycle time.
• Investigate optical performance failures and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Support NPI projects, engineering builds, and product transfers into mass production.
• Conduct process characterization, capability studies, and DOE experiments.
• Develop and maintain bonding programs, alignment recipes, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Participate in equipment installation, qualification, and acceptance activities.
• Collaborate with Product, Optical Design, Process, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product performance.
