Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our critical network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and optimal performance across banking systems in Singapore.

The role requires 6–8 years of network engineering experience with Cisco routing/switching, firewalls, and network monitoring tools, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills for fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in network engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching; CCNP/CCIE preferred.
• Experience configuring firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, OSPF, BGP.
• Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, install, and troubleshoot network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, identify and resolve network issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages and optimize network efficiency.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect sensitive banking data and systems.
• Participate in network capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations to support business growth and technological advancements.
• Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., systems, security, applications) to ensure seamless integration and operation of banking systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal users on network-related issues.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and security threats.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents outside of business hours.
