Job summary

Unknown is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise network infrastructure in Singapore. The role focuses on hands-on Cisco networking, firewall administration, network security, and infrastructure support within a banking/financial services environment.

You will design, implement, maintain and secure the network to ensure high availability, performance and policy compliance with Head Office security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Network Engineering or Network Infrastructure Support.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise networking environments.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Routers & Switches, Firewall Administration, VPN Technologies, Wireless Networking.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, BGP, OSPF, STP.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiar with network security best practices, firewall policies and access control.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN and Wireless Network infrastructure.
• Configure, administer and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance, availability, utilization and capacity to ensure optimal system performance.
• Perform network troubleshooting and root cause analysis for connectivity, routing and security incidents.
• Support network infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Implement and enforce Head Office network security policies and industry best practices.
• Manage network security technologies including firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS and access control.
• Perform network upgrades, patching and infrastructure enhancements.
• Prepare and maintain network documentation, diagrams and SOPs.
• Participate in incident management, disaster recovery planning and change management activities.
• Work with infrastructure, security and application teams to support business projects.
• Mentor junior engineers where applicable.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established Chinese Bank in Singapore, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise network infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates with strong hands‑on experience in Cisco networking, firewall administration, network security, and infrastructure support within a banking or financial services environment.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the bank's network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with Head Office security policies.

• Candidates with banking or financial services industry experience will be highly preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure within banks, financial institutions or regulated environments will be an added advantage.
