Job summary

TECH GRID ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Senior Design Engineer/ Naval Architect to lead the engineering design department for Singapore and Vietnam teams.

You will develop safe, buildable, and cost-effective vessel designs, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You will oversee design deliverables, coordinate with suppliers and clients, and drive continuous improvement in ship design and processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as Senior Design Engineer or Naval Architect.
• 5+ years managing an engineering design department.
• Proven Aluminium shipbuilding experience.
• Formal qualifications in Naval Architecture or Mechanical/Marine Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Classification Society Rules and Flag Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver shipbuilding projects.
• Develop safe, buildable, and cost-effective vessel designs meeting requirements.
• Coordinate design deliverables with project timelines and milestones.
• Oversee procurement reviews to ensure specifications compliance.
• Interact with classification societies, flag states and regulators to maintain certifications.
• Collaborate with OEMs and clients to resolve technical issues and maintain project continuity.
• Apply weight management and stability expertise throughout the build process.
• Lead inclining experiments, lightship surveys, and sea trial protocol development.
