Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering for shipbuilding projects, coordinate with clients and vendors, and drive tender and design activities across engaging marine and offshore initiatives.

You will review specifications, generate design concepts, and ensure compliance with classification rules and maritime regulations while collaborating with cross-functional teams and traveling as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience in marine or offshore industries.
• Understand basic shipbuilding and project processes; able to discuss specifications with clients.
• Analytical ability.
• Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD.
• Need to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients and vendors (China/Taiwan).
• Willingness to travel to Indonesia, Taiwan and other countries for technical meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and assist marketing with retention of existing clients and seek new clients for ship building division.
• Assist commercial newbuilding and repair tender exercises for newbuilding and conversion projects.
• Review contracts, technical and equipment specifications to meet design obligations.
• Generate basic design concepts to align with new building tenders.
• Prepare drawing schedules and arrange technical meetings with clients, classification, designers, vendors and system integrators.
• Execute new building design and engineering production plans for awarded projects.
• Interpret classification rules and maritime regulations; read design drawings.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
