Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Senior Motor Drives Engineer in Singapore to lead the design and implementation of motor drive solutions. You will contribute across the product lifecycle, from design to industrialisation, translating requirements into concrete deliverables and robust documentation.

The role requires hands-on experience with motor control algorithms, electromagnetic design, and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, SIMSCAPE, and SPICE.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or numerate discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in developing motor control algorithms and electromagnetic aspects of motors.
• Knowledge across electrical machines, motor control, power electronics, and sensing technologies.
• Strong skills in motor control simulation with MATLAB/Simulink, SIMSCAPE, SPICE, or related tooling.
• Experience with finite element analysis of electrical machines.
• Statistical analysis of data from experiments and production tests.
• Excellent teamwork and communication to bridge multiple functions.
• Ability to report progress clearly in meetings and produce high-quality documentation.
• Experience planning, overcoming obstacles, and working within an Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and document motor drive solutions across design to industrialisation stages.
• Translate requirements into clear deliverables at project milestones.
• Design and implement motor control algorithms.
• Simulate and test motor controls and electromagnetic designs.
• Support design, commissioning and debugging of production testers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors for engineering work.
