Job summary

Michael Page International Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator to own end-to-end MongoDB environments, including deployment, upgrades, maintenance, and security. You will design replica sets and sharded clusters, monitor production systems, optimise queries, and automate operational tasks across AWS, Azure, or GCP with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field required.
• Hands-on MongoDB administration in production environments.
• Experience with Replica Sets, Sharding and MongoDB Cluster architectures.
• Knowledge of WiredTiger storage engine and indexing concepts.
• Experience tuning performance in Linux/Unix environments.
• Exposure to cloud database administration across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL or other NoSQL technologies.
• Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting for automation.
• Understanding TLS/SSL, RBAC and encryption-at-rest security.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana or MongoDB Ops Manager.
• Experience with enterprise-scale database migration or modernization.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end MongoDB environments including deployment, upgrades, maintenance and security.
• Design and administer Replica Sets and Sharded Clusters for scalability and high availability.
• Monitor production systems and resolve database performance issues.
• Optimise queries, indexing and aggregation pipelines with development teams.
• Manage MongoDB Atlas and cloud-hosted databases across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, failover and DR processes.
• Automate routine administration, monitoring and health-check activities.
