Job summary

National University Health Services Group Pte. Ltd. seeks a laboratory assistant to perform specimen reception, preparation, and packing, and to assist with telephone duties and patient billing accuracy.

The role includes specimen analysis, operation and maintenance of analysers, QC verification, and strict adherence to SOPs and safety standards. Training will include supervising junior staff and revising SOPs.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant field or equivalent.
• Relevant working experiences.
• Be able to perform 3 rotating shifts - morning, afternoon and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen reception, preparation, and packing of specimens.
• Assist with telephone reception duties and ensure patients’ bills are accurate.
• Carry out specimen analysis, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the analysers and validation of results.
• Able to troubleshoot and explain basic problems and elevate when required.
• Knowledgeable on Quality Control (QC) (e.g., Westgard, criteria, EQA) and verification of QC results and assist to troubleshoot issues.
• Adhere to the department’s standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist in the supervision and guiding of junior staff.
• Revise or write new SOP.
