is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform a range of routine laboratory procedures and related activities to support quality lab services for internal and external customers. The role involves handling specimens via Pneumatic Tube, operating the LIS, ensuring proper sample packaging for send-out tests, and maintaining instrument readiness through preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent to Medical Laboratory Science.
• Preferably 1–2 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
• Good laboratory skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency in laboratory information system.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens via Pneumatic Tube system and at counter, reject unsuitable samples.
• Operate the Laboratory Information System for order entry, receipt, result query and entry.
• Sort and dispatch specimens to benches; perform simple processing and sorting.
• Manage specimen movement for in-house and send-out tests; ensure correct packaging for send-outs.
• Respond to customer enquiries at reception and escalate as needed.
• Perform laboratory tests following established protocols and QC procedures.
• Notify senior staff of critical values and instrument issues.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on instruments and reorder supplies when needed.
• Adhere to Laboratory Safety Manual and accreditation requirements; participate in education sessions.
• Assist with staff scheduling and mentoring of trainees.
