Job summary

KLA Corporation seeks a highly capable mechanical engineer to design precision components for state-of-the-art semiconductor metrology equipment. You will own the design process, drive verification/testing, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Applicants should have a strong background in CAD, FEA, and thermal/mass analysis, with PhD or master's-level credentials and extensive experience from academia or industry.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent research experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design principles and GD&T.
• Experience with prototype development, testing, and verification in cleanroom or production settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design of precision components and subsystems for next-gen metrology equipment.
• Own and drive the mechanical design process from concept to detailed drawings.
• Plan and execute design verification/validation, including hands-on assembly and testing.
• Manage supplier interfaces and ensure parts meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Document designs and procedures; provide training and transfer to manufacturing.
