Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Senior Purchasing Executive for the Marine Industry in Singapore. You will manage procurement for vessels, ship management operations and shore-based needs, sourcing marine equipment, spare parts and consumables while ensuring competitive pricing, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires collaboration with technical superintendents, fleet managers, engineers and operations teams to meet procurement requirements and optimize supplier performance across

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in SCM, procurement, business or maritime studies.
• Minimum 2 years purchasing experience in Marine/Shipping industry.
• Knowledge of marine spare parts.
• Experience with shipowners, ship managers and international vendors.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end purchasing for marine vessels and shore operations.
• Source and procure marine spare parts, equipment and consumables.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing and issue purchase orders.
• Coordinate with Technical Superintendents, Fleet Managers and engineers to fulfil procurement needs.
• Build relationships with marine suppliers, ship chandlers and service providers.
• Monitor POs from placement to delivery and ensure timely arrivals.
• Coordinate urgent procurement, including breakdowns and dry-docking.
• Review supplier performance on price, quality and delivery.
