Job summary

Dyson Operations Pte Ltd seeks a Senior Manager Export Controls to lead export control compliance across our product portfolio including finished goods, spares, tooling and software. You will shape processes, work with RDD teams and engineers, and align with regulatory requirements globally.

You will develop policies, classify products (ECCN/HS), manage licenses, train staff, and conduct audits while staying current with evolving regimes and technologies that affect our exports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in export control or related roles in tech.
• Knowledge of EAR, dual-use regs and export control regimes.

Job DescriptionOverview:

As part of our commitment to compliance with international trade regulations, we are creating a new role for an Senior Manager Export Controls. This position is pivotal in ensuring the responsible export of our products, including finished goods, spares and accessories, tooling and equipment, and software, to global markets while adhering to evolving regulatory requirements.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager Export Controls to lead our efforts in shaping and managing export control compliance within our organization. This newly created role reflects our company's dedication to compliance and its integral role in our business strategy. As the Senior Manager Export Controls, you will work closely with the Senior Manager Global Customs Compliance, RDD teams, and engineers to develop and implement robust export control processes and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Policy Development: Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to create, update, and maintain export control policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Product Classification: Determine product classification, including Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) or Harmonized System (HS) codes, for finished goods, spares and accessories, tooling and equipment, and software, ensuring accurate export documentation.
• Licensing: Prepare and submit export license applications to relevant government authorities for all products in scope and oversee license management.
• Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver export control training programs to employees across the organization, including RDD teams, engineers, and relevant stakeholders, raising awareness and fostering a culture of compliance.
• Compliance Audits: Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments for all products in scope to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and assess their impact on export controls, providing guidance on compliant integration.
• Incident Response: Develop and oversee incident response procedures for export control violations related to all products in scope and report any non-compliance incidents to regulatory authorities when necessary.
• Global Collaboration: Collaborate closely with RDD teams, engineers, and cross-functional teams, including legal, supply chain, and product development, to ensure export control considerations are integrated into product design and production processes for all relevant products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or certifications in export controls or trade compliance preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in export control compliance or related roles, preferably within the consumer electronics or technology industry.
• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, including Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Dual-Use Regulations, and other relevant export control regimes.
• Strong understanding of product classification, licensing, and embargoed countries, especially for finished goods, spares and accessories, tooling and equipment, and software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Self-sufficiency and strong self-organization skills.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
