Singapore General Hospital is seeking a Senior Manager (Employee Relations) to lead ER initiatives, ensure compliance, and support a positive workplace culture for our healthcare workforce. Job description

As a Senior Manager (Employee Relations), you will be responsible for driving employee relations initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee engagement, and ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR policies. This role plays a key part in supporting our healthcare workforce and advancing the hospital's vision of being an employer of choice within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee employee relations policies, frameworks, and programmes that support organisational objectives and comply with relevant employment legislation and regulations.
  • Provide strategic counsel and expert guidance to senior management and department leaders on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary cases, grievances, performance management, and workplace conduct issues.
  • Lead the investigation, mediation, and resolution of workplace conflicts and disputes, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of developments in employment legislation and workplace practices, and work closely with HR Function Leads to coordinate and facilitate regular reviews of HR policies, ensuring they remain current, compliant with legislative requirements, and aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Oversee the administration and timely submission of employee award nominations at both cluster and national levels, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and timelines.
  • Lead and coordinate HR Division work planning and annual budget exercises, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational requirements.
  • Oversee the management of employee records and documentation, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements and organisational policies.
  • Design and facilitate training programmes and workshops for managers and employees on employee relations best practices, workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and related topics.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in employee relations, human resources management, or a related field, including a minimum of 4 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, labour regulations, and employee relations best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary matters, grievance handling, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with sound judgment and a balanced approach to employee and organisational interests.
  • Experience in the healthcare, hospital, public healthcare, or public sector environment will be an advantage
