Job summary

DesignSingapore Council is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to lead in the Industry division, collaborating with local and international designers to strengthen Singapore's design sector. You will develop and curate programmes, and provide holistic support for designers, reporting to the Assistant Head of the Industry division.

You will work with various stakeholders, including government agencies and design bodies, to internationalise Singapore design businesses and build capability.

Qualifications

• Background or degree in business management, design management or design-related field.
• 5–8 years for Senior Manager; up to 5 years for Assistant Manager/Manager in business development or design management.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and clear communication; proactive and self-starting.
• Client-management experience in a design/creative agency or public sector industry engagement.
• Experience in project management and procurement is a bonus.
• Familiarity with Singapore's design ecosystem is a bonus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage leading local and global designers and design consultancies to learn capabilities and best practices.
• Engage Singapore design businesses at all growth stages to understand their needs and challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cross-collaborations and provide holistic support.
• Monitor global design and business trends to guide interventions for internationalisation.
• Structure and implement programmes at the systems level to support design businesses and designers.
• Review strategies and programmes to identify areas for improvement and new initiatives.
• Develop annual workplan and budgeting; monitor progress and achievements.
• Undertake Dsg special projects as relevant.
