Location: Tuas, Singapore Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Machine Operator with strong hands‑on experience in operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery.
The machines are mainly used for ink formulation, mixing, blending, filling, and packaging. The ideal candidate should be able to independently identify machine faults, carry out first‑level repairs, minimise downtime, and ensure smooth and safe production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machines used for ink formulation, mixing, blending, filling, and packaging.
- Set up and adjust machines according to production and batch requirements.
- Perform machine start‑up, shutdown, cleaning, and product changeover activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational machine faults.
- Identify the root cause of machine breakdowns and perform basic corrective repairs.
- Replace or repair components such as sensors, motors, belts, bearings, valves, pumps, hoses, and other machine parts where required.
- Monitor machine performance and identify abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage, pressure, or output.
- Carry out preventive and routine maintenance activities.
- Minimise production downtime by responding quickly to machine breakdowns.
- Escalate major or complex technical issues to the maintenance or engineering team.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as:Industrial mixers and agitatorsInk formulation and blending machinesPumps and transfer systemsFilling machinesConveyorsCapping and sealing machinesLabelling machinesPackaging equipment
- Ensure accurate mixing, formulation, filling quantity, sealing, and packaging.
- Conduct basic quality checks during production.
- Follow production specifications, batch instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Support machine calibration and testing when required.
- Maintain machine breakdown, repair, maintenance, and production records.
- Ensure proper cleaning of machines and equipment to avoid contamination between different ink products or batches.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the production area.
- Guide and support junior machine operators when required.
- Follow all workplace safety and chemical‑handling requirements.
Requirements
- Technical Certificate, NITEC, Diploma, vocational qualification, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing or production machinery.
- Strong experience in machine fault identification and basic repair work.
- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and machine components.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Familiarity with pneumatic systems, pumps, motors, valves, sensors, mixers, conveyors, and filling equipment.
- Able to perform basic maintenance and replacement of machine parts.
- Ability to read machine manuals, operating instructions, and basic technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to work independently during machine breakdowns.
- Good understanding of production safety requirements.
- Willing to work shifts, overtime, or weekends where required.
