Job summary

THIAM BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Project Engineer to monitor progress, prepare method statements, and manage MEP coordination on site in Singapore. You will oversee planning, design, material requisition, cost control, and documentation, ensuring on-time completion with strict QA/QC standards.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (PE Board Singapore recognised) with 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering recognised by PE Board Singapore.
• Minimum 10 years' work experience related to Singapore building/construction projects, healthcare preferred.
• Experience in HDB/Healthcare projects or high-rise developments is advantageous.
• Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience.
• Excellent communication to coordinate with site teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in design and build is a plus, AutoCAD is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on progress to project manager.
• Prepare method statements and check drawing discrepancies.
• Carry out project planning, design, material requisition, cost control, supervision and documentation.
• Control progress of RFAs, RFIs, shop drawings, technical submissions and procurement/delivery status.
• Ensure proper MEP drawing management and filing on site.
• Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors on technical matters.
• Control site progress and installation quality per approved drawings and submissions.
• Assist in supervising MEP services work with other departments.
• Assist submission of progress claim evaluations and variations.
• Participate in project review, site, design and other meetings.
• Conduct M&E technical meetings and resolve technical issues with record.
• Coordinate M&E drawings and production of CSDs and service drawings quality.
• Maintain site inspection records & T&C records.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections and clear them to meet construction schedule.

• Control the progress of RFA, RFI, Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Status for on-time completion.


• Ensure good MEP drawing management and the control of MEP documentation/filing on site.


• Coordinate with client's representatives, consultants, and subcontractors on all technical matters, including submission of method statement, drawings, materials, samples and work progress.


• Control site progress & installation quality as per approved Shop Drawings, Technical Submissions and Equipment/Material Procurement/Fabrication/Delivery Schedule for on-time completion.


• Assist in supervising and coordinating MEP services work closely with other departments.


• Assist for submission of evaluation of progress claim, variation work.


• Participate in all relevant project review meetings, site meetings, design meetings, and other project relevant meetings.


• Responsible for carrying out M&E technical meetings and resolving technical issues with record.


• Responsible for M&E drawing coordination and production of CSD and individual service drawings quality.


• Provide and maintain all site inspection records & T&C records up to date.


• Responsible for conducting QA/QC inspection, managing RE, RTO and responsible for clearing QA/QC inspections to meet with construction schedule.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, recognized by PE Board Singapore.


• Minimum 10 years' work experience related projects in Singapore building and construction and preferred with Healthcare industry.


• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering experience in HDB / Healthcare projects or high-rise developments.


• Possess strong Electrical/Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experiences.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with site teams to execute work.


• Experience in design and build is an advantage.


• Use of AutoCad would be an advantage.
