Job summary

ICON OUTSOURCING is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer in Singapore to install, secure, and optimize Linux environments (RHEL-based) across development, testing, and production. You will automate with Ansible, Bash, and Python, and support high-availability and disaster-recovery setups.

You will manage incident responses at Level 3, implement container workflows with Docker/Kubernetes, and ensure compliance with CIS, PCI-DSS, and MAS TRM guidelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science/information technology.
• Minimum 4 years of IT Infrastructure Engineer experience supporting critical systems.
• Experience automating infrastructure with Ansible and shell scripting.
• Strong hands-on Linux (RHEL) skills: LVM, networking, kernel tuning.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred).
• Proficiency in Bash and familiarity with Python.
• Experience in large-scale production environments.
• Familiarity with containers (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Understanding of security hardening and compliance standards.
• RHCSA/RHCE certification highly desirable.
• Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support.
• Strong knowledge of banking sector requirements.
• Experience with MAS TRM Guidelines and PCI-DSS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, harden, patch, and maintain Linux systems (RHEL-based).
• Perform OS tuning, performance optimisation, and capacity planning.
• Ensure system security compliance (CIS benchmarks, patching, remediation).
• Manage Linux systems across development, testing, production environments.
• Provide Level 3 support for Linux incidents and issues.
• Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Bash, and Python.
• Automate provisioning, patching, and configuration management workflows.
• Work with BigFix for endpoint management and compliance reporting.
• Improve system efficiency via infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Monitor system health, logs, and performance with enterprise tools.
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks, kernel issues, and dependencies.
• Ensure high system availability and uptime.
• Work with Zabbix for monitoring and alerting.
• Support physical server infrastructure; coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, runbooks, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and security standards.
