Job summary

NCS PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented System Engineer with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to design, implement, and maintain robust Linux-based infrastructure for enterprise operations.

The role focuses on performance optimization, automation via shell scripts, storage management, and proactive monitoring to ensure reliability and security across the infrastructure landscape.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and management.
• Strong Linux system architecture knowledge and OS fundamentals.
• Scripting in Bash and automation experience.
• Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP and configurations.
• Experience with storage, file systems, and LVM.
• Proficient in performance tuning, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Familiar with configuration management concepts and tools.
• Excellent documentation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage RHEL systems and infrastructure.
• Perform system administration tasks including user management and security settings.
• Analyze performance metrics and implement optimization strategies.
• Develop shell scripts and automation to streamline tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues with detailed documentation.
• Configure and manage storage, file systems, and partitions.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to detect issues proactively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments and infra needs.
• Ensure security hardening and vulnerability assessments are conducted.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and decisions.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and other departments.
