Ambition Group Singapore PTE. LTD. is partnering with a leading global financial markets and technology organisation to recruit a Principal Linux Engineer.

You will own hands-on operations for large-scale Linux environments, focusing on platform stability, incident response and continuous improvement. The role requires weekend coverage as part of the core schedule and close collaboration with SRE, Security and Infra teams to ensure seamless production operations across global infrastructure,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Linux systems administration in large-scale 24x7 environments.
• Deep Linux OS administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and kernel basics.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Salt, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation.
• Experience with bare-metal servers and enterprise storage (SAN/NAS/RAID/NVMe).
• Experience with monitoring/observability (Grafana/Prometheus).
• Familiarity with cloud and container tech (AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps tooling (Terraform, Git, CI/CD).
• Strong problem-solving during high-severity incidents.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health, availability, and performance of Linux infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
• Lead maintenance activities, upgrades, patching, failover testing, and recovery exercises.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for Linux incidents, driving triage and RCA.
• Administer and maintain bare-metal Linux servers, storage systems, and CM platforms.
• Execute and monitor production changes per change management processes.
• Develop and maintain operational automation using Python and Shell scripting.
• Support monitoring, observability, and capacity management via dashboards and analysis.
• Create and maintain runbooks and recovery documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, SRE, Security, and Infra teams to improve reliability.
