Job summary

LPS is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to own design, performance, and reliability of our Linux server estate across on-prem and cloud (AWS/Azure). You will be the go-to expert for Linux systems architecture, automation, and troubleshooting.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead capacity planning and DR/backup, and collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to meet compliance and reliability requirements.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Linux systems administration/engineering in large-scale environments.
• Deep Linux internals: processes, filesystems, networking, storage, and performance tuning.
• Strong scripting/automation: Bash required; Python or similar preferred.
• Virtualization and containerization: VMware/KVM, Docker; Kubernetes a plus.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure: provisioning, IAM, networking, cost-aware operations.
• Security hardening: CIS benchmarks, patch management, audit logging.
• On-call rotation, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent documentation and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, build, and administer Linux servers across the environment.
• Troubleshoot kernel, filesystem, storage, memory, and networking layers.
• Harden systems with CIS benchmarks, patching, access controls, and audit logging.
• Extend infrastructure into AWS/Azure — provisioning compute/storage and IAM.
• Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive incident response and postmortems.
• Document system architecture, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on Linux administration best practices.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams for compliance and reliability.
