ALS International is recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel to join a client’s internal legal team in Singapore. The role emphasizes investment, private credit, trade finance, and regional deals, with a primary focus on Singapore and Indonesia.

As the sole legal adviser in Singapore, you will partner with management in a fast-paced environment to manage risk and company compliance. You should bring 7–10 years of practice in banking and finance, commodities or mining transactions, and strong drafting

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in Singapore or Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• 7–10 years of legal experience in law firm or in-house.
• Strong background in banking and finance, secured lending, or trade finance.
• Experience in private credit, M&A, joint ventures, commodities or mining transactions.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, cross-border security arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Transaction Support: Draft and negotiate loan agreements, facility documents, security packages, guarantees, pledges, shareholder agreements, joint venture contracts, and NDAs.
• Legal Due Diligence: Manage due diligence for investments and financing projects; produce risk summaries for management and investment committees.
• External Counsel Management: Coordinate external law firms across Singapore, Indonesia, and other jurisdictions; manage timelines, instructions, and project costs.
• Governance and Compliance: Assist with corporate governance, board/shareholder approvals, compliance calendars, regulatory filings, KYC checks, and contract register maintenance.
