Job description

What the role is

We are looking for a motivated Land Surveyor to join HDB and play a part in shaping Singapore’s public housing landscape.

What the role is

We are looking for a motivated Land Surveyor to join HDB and play a part in shaping Singapore’s public housing landscape. You will apply your expertise in land surveying and geomatics to support HDB developments throughout the project life cycle. You will work closely with Registered Surveyors, planners, architects, engineers, consultants, and government agencies to support the delivery of HDB’s housing, infrastructure, and estate development programmes. You will also have opportunities to work with advanced geomatics technologies such as 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK, mobile mapping, and other digital reality-capture solutions, and contribute to the transformation of HDB’s surveying and geospatial capabilities. Your work will help provide the trusted spatial foundation needed to plan land, build homes, manage infrastructure, and support the long‑term development of Singapore’s public housing landscape.

What you will be working on
  • Manage and supervise land survey works undertaken by Registered Surveyors appointed by HDB, including site inspections and technical checks to ensure the quality and adequacy of survey works.
  • Provide technical and surveying input to planners, architects, engineers, and project teams, and resolve survey‑related issues affecting the planning, design, and implementation of HDB developments.
  • Investigate and resolve complex survey, boundary and site discrepancies involving surveyors, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with government agencies and regulatory authorities on cadastral, strata, land and survey matters to facilitate timely resolution and approvals.
  • Support professional survey activities across the development lifecycle, including engineering and topographical surveys, cadastral and strata surveys, land alienation, as‑built verification, and other specialised survey requirements.
  • Lead and support pilot projects involving advanced geomatics and surveying technologies, including 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK, mobile mapping and other reality‑capture and geospatial data collection technologies.
  • Evaluate and implement new surveying methodologies, technologies, and digital workflows to enhance survey quality, productivity, and reuse of geospatial information.
  • Review and manage survey and geospatial datasets, including 3D point clouds and other spatial information, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and suitability for downstream applications.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of survey standards, technical specifications, quality‑control processes, and professional surveying practices within HDB.
  • Maintain records of survey activities, project progress, quality reviews, and contract‑related matters, and prepare technical reports and updates for relevant stakeholders.
What we are looking for
  • Good background in Land Surveying, Geomatics Engineering, Geodesy, or a related geomatics/geospatial discipline, preferably with 2–4 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good knowledge of land surveying principles, field practices, survey control, and spatial data processing.
  • Familiarity with robotic total stations, GNSS/RTK systems, UAVs, 3D LiDAR scanners and relevant CAD, GIS, BIM, or point‑cloud processing software.
  • Knowledge or experience in cadastral, engineering or construction surveying, 3D LiDAR or 3D spatial data management would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with good professional judgement and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Keen interest in emerging surveying and geomatics technologies and their application in Singapore’s built environment.

Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications and a strong interest in developing a professional career in land surveying and geomatics may also be considered.
