Job summary

IBM is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to join its Customer Success and Professional Services team in Singapore. You will help customers leverage streaming architectures and Apache Kafka, working across Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases to deliver real-time data platforms.

You will interact directly with customers to provide software architecture, design, and operations expertise, gather feedback for product teams, and help optimize deployments with industry-leading delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in big data, streaming, or data integration solutions, ideally using Apache Kafka.
• Managed multiple B2B infrastructure software projects with customer outcomes.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL and Debian) and cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on JVM tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with distributed systems (Kafka, Hadoop, Cassandra).
• Excellent communication and ability to learn quickly.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on platform/app strategy for real-time, event-based systems.
• Engage with customer architects, developers, and operators; deliver recommendations.
• Provide product and engineering feedback.
• Develop tooling and reference architectures; write docs.
• Collaborate to build streaming data infrastructure with best practices.
• Contribute to performance testing and feature adoption.
• Represent IBM at industry events.
