Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer III in Singapore to join the Trading Technology team. You will work in an agile environment designing and delivering secure, scalable market-leading technology products that support the firm’s objectives.

You will design and implement Java-based microservices, leverage Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, and AWS, and contribute to architecture discussions while ensuring high-quality coding practices with AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of applied software engineering experience.
Hands-on coding in Java with willingness to code.
Experience with distributed architectures handling large data or real-time updates.
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps toolchains.
Experience with Redis, Kafka or similar messaging/datastore is a plus.
Understanding microservices, REST APIs, databases, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy applications that meet business requirements.
Design and implement microservices in Java with reactive techniques.
Use Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK, and AWS to build scalable services.
Support domain-driven design and participate in architecture discussions.
Produce API documentation (Swagger) and implement logging, security, and monitoring.
Participate in API design sessions and review design patterns.
Write tests using TDD/BDD and participate in code reviews.
Validate service scalability with mock testing tools.
Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and speed.
Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
