Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Singapore within the Trading Technology team to strengthen and expand trusted, market-leading technology products. You will be a core technical contributor in an agile environment, delivering secure, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.

You will design and implement Java-based microservices, work with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK, and AWS, and participate in architectural discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Java with hands-on coding willingness.
• Formal training and at least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed architectures handling large data or real-time distribution.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps toolchains, and test-driven agile delivery.
• Experience with caching and messaging solutions (Redis, Kafka, IBM MQ).
• Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, databases (SQL/no-SQL), and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy applications with teammates to meet requirements.
• Design and implement microservices in Java using streaming, non-blocking, and reactive patterns.
• Utilize Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, MSK, and AWS to build scalable services.
• Support domain-driven design and participate in architectural discussions.
• Document APIs using Swagger and implement logging, security, and monitoring features.
• Contribute to API design sessions and evaluate design patterns.
• Write tests with TDD/BDD and participate in code reviews.
• Validate service scalability with mock testing tools.
• Promote enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and delivery.
