Job summary

Patsnap is seeking a Backend Engineer / Senior Backend Engineer to build and evolve high-performance, scalable Java-based backend services for our global platform. You will own critical components, drive architecture decisions, and work across product, frontend, and DevOps to deliver robust solutions.

You’ll design, implement, and optimize backends, lead end-to-end projects, and ensure code quality and performance in a production environment. This in-office role is based in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong understanding of Spring/Spring Boot frameworks, RESTful API design, and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency with SQL/NoSQL databases, and knowledge of database performance optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from concept to deployment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement robust backend solutions in Java to support new features and products.
• Lead End-to-End Projects: Own the entire development cycle from requirements gathering to production deployment with minimal supervision.
• Optimize Performance & Scalability: Conduct code reviews, optimize databases, and fine-tune microservices to maintain responsive systems.
• Ensure Code Quality & Best Practices: Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and documentation for the team.
• Collaboration: Share knowledge on Java best practices and foster continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver releases on schedule.
• Troubleshoot and Debug: Diagnose production issues, implement long-term fixes, and prevent downtime.
