Job summary

NEXTERA SOFTWARE SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with 6+ years of hands-on experience to design, build, and support high-throughput digital banking applications for DBS Bank.

You will architect microservices ecosystems, implement distributed backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native frameworks, and ensure secure, scalable performance in a BFSI context. Expect to work in an on-site/hybrid setup, collaborating in an Agile/Scrum team to deliver robust

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 6+ years in enterprise‑level Java backend software development.
• Domain Expertise: Must have prior hands‑on experience in Banking or Financial Services (BFSI).
• Core Tech Stack: Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and JPA / Hibernate.
• Architecture: Strong hands‑on experience with Microservices Architecture and RESTful API design.
• Databases: Relational (Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB).
• Messaging & Async: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or JMS for real‑time messaging.
• Testing: Unit, integration, and performance testing with JUnit, Mockito, and JMeter.

Responsibilities

• Microservices Development: Architect, build, and deploy resilient backend microservices with Java (11/17) and Spring Boot.
• API Integration: Design and implement RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and API Gateways for core banking systems.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Implement event streams, asynchronous processing, and messaging using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
• Data Persistence & Security: Manage data models across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB and NoSQL; ensure encryption at rest and in transit.
• Banking Security Compliance: Integrate Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and mTLS per MAS standards.
• Performance Tuning & Debugging: Analyze threads, fix memory leaks, optimize DB queries, and tune latency with JMeter/APM tools.
• CI/CD & DevOps Automation: Collaborate in Agile squads; CI/CD with Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes.
