Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and design-focused Senior Interior Designer / Design Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in interior design, architecture, or spatial design who enjoys coordinating multidisciplinary teams, engaging with clients, and ensuring great design is successfully delivered from concept through completion.

A Day in the Life

Design Coordination & Client Management

  • Understand client objectives and translate them into clear project and design briefs.

  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal design teams throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate design reviews, presentations, and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.

  • Manage client expectations and communicate project updates effectively.

  • Facilitate collaboration between designers, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Site Coordination & Construction Support

  • Provide design-oriented solutions when unexpected site challenges arise.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and design implementation.

  • Work closely with contractors and consultants to resolve site-related issues.

  • Support testing, commissioning, inspections, and project handover activities.

  • Ensure final execution reflects the approved design intent and quality standards.

Design Leadership & Brand Assurance

  • Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project delivery process.

  • Review and coordinate design submissions, consultant drawings, and contractor shop drawings for compliance with approved design requirements.

  • Verify that client and brand comments are accurately incorporated into design documentation.

  • Identify potential constructability issues early and work closely with project teams to resolve them.

  • Champion design quality and consistency across all project stages.

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and risks.

  • Lead project meetings, prepare meeting records, and follow through on action items.

  • Manage change requests and ensure alignment between client expectations and project delivery.

Procurement & Tender Support

  • Support consultant selection and tendering processes.

  • Evaluate submissions and provide recommendations based on design, technical, and commercial considerations.

  • Respond to design-related technical queries during procurement and construction phases.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in: Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, Spatial Design, Retail Design, Or a related discipline

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in design management, interior design, workplace design, retail design, hospitality design, architecture, or project coordination.

  • Candidates with strong design coordination experience who are looking to transition into a project management role are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience working on commercial, workplace, hospitality, retail, or experiential projects is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar platforms.

  • Understanding of design documentation, construction drawings, and consultant coordination.

  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as MS Project is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of BIM workflows is a plus.
