Job summary

IPID is seeking a senior in-house lawyer in Singapore to own and shape the legal function as the first permanent in-house hire. You’ll partner with the COO and leaders on commercial, regulatory, privacy, and governance matters, drafting and negotiating across jurisdictions while advising on new products and business models.

You will own day-to-day privacy and data governance, coordinate external counsel when needed, and help build practical templates and playbooks to scale the business

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with strong corporate and commercial law foundation.
• 8+ years post-qualification experience with in-house exposure.
• Experience advising Product/Technology teams on new products and data privacy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for legal matters across commercial, regulatory, privacy, data governance.
• Draft, review and negotiate broad commercial agreements across jurisdictions.
• Advise on data governance and privacy considerations early in product development.
• Lead day-to-day privacy, data protection and governance advice.
• Assist with corporate governance across the jurisdictions IPID operates in.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable steps.
• Develop and improve practical legal templates and playbooks to raise quality.
