Job summary

CES_SALCON PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced automation engineer in Singapore to design control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA) and to size instruments, cables, and hardware for projects. You will prepare technical proposals, design basis, instrument lists, and loop diagrams, and review vendor offers for ATEX compliance.

The role involves creating hook-up drawings, control room layouts, and start-up documentation for plant handover with a focus on process plants and water/wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics, Automation, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in process plants or water/wastewater with automation design knowledge.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Navisworks is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design basic and detailed control system architecture including PLC, DCS, and SCADA integration.
• Size and select instruments, analyzers, hardware, and cabling to support proposals and projects.
• Prepare project documents: proposals, design basis, IO lists, loop diagrams, and hookup drawings.
• Prepare RFQ specifications and vendor reviews ensuring compliance with codes including ATEX.
• Prepare documentation for site activities: instrument lists, cable schedules, start-up, testing, and handover.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Basic and detailed design of control system architecture, PLC, DCS, and RIO systems, PLC and SCADA programming software, etc.
• Design sizing, calculation, and selection for instruments, analyzers, control system hardware, instrument and control cable, etc., to support the proposals team and projects team.
• Preparation of project documents, including technical proposal, design basis, instrument list, IO list, instrument and control cable schedule, cable routing, control room layout, hook-up drawings, instrument location layout, control panel layout, loop disgrams, Functional Design Specification, IOM manual, etc.
• Preparing specifications and datasheets for RFQ and reviewing offers from vendors for compliance with technical specifications, compliance with codes and regulations, including ATEX.
• Prepare documentation (Instrument list, IO list, datasheet, cable schedule, cable routing, loop diagram, hookup drawing, functional design specification, and panel layout, etc.) for submission and site activities such as plant start-up, cable schedule, performance testing, optimization, and handover.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Electronics, Automation, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in process plants or in the water/wastewater industry, with good knowledge in automation design of water and/or wastewater treatment plants.
• Familiarity with project design software such AutoCAD and Navisworks is advantageous.
