Job summary

JOHNSON CONTROLS (S) PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced HVAC design specialist to support engineering teams in Singapore.

You will draft and review detailed drawings, perform load and hydraulic calculations, and prepare BOMs and tender documents for medium to large projects. You will ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards and local codes, coordinate with sales and project management, review third-party designs, mentor junior engineers, and assist in site assessments and commissioning

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in HVAC system design, including chilled water systems or condenser system design.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system fundamentals, equipment selection, and controls integration.
• Familiarity with performing hydraulic calculations and using tools/spreadsheets for pump head computation.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (ASHRAE, ISO, local mechanical codes).
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
• Professional certification (SCEM, LEED AP) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design support for assigned projects.
• Develop and review detailed drawings, schematics, and equipment specs.
• Perform HVAC load, hydraulic, pump head calculations, pipe sizing, and system design.
• Prepare proposals, BOMs, equipment selections, and tender documentation.
• Ensure HVAC designs comply with ASHRAE standards and local codes.
• Coordinate with sales, project management, and solutions engineering.
• Review designs from consultants, contractors, and partners.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Conduct site assessments and attend technical meetings.
• Support troubleshooting and commissioning of HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Meet with clients and design teams to determine mechanical requirements.
• Review mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs.
