Job summary

CHIU TENG Construction Co. Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical aspects of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, oversee investigations, and provide design recommendations.

You will review reports and calculations, supervise junior engineers, liaise with clients and authorities, and implement safe, compliant ground engineering solutions. PE/Chartered status is an advantage; strong software experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the PE Board.
• 8+ years geotechnical engineering experience; 5+ years in construction supervision on similar projects.
• LTA/rail projects background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design standards.
• Proficient in geotechnical design software such as PLAXIS/GeoStudio/SAFE/FLAC.
• Familiar with local and international codes and regulatory approvals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities; PE/Chartered engineer status an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical aspects of construction and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct soil, rock, and groundwater investigations and provide design recommendations.
• Prepare and review geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, and calculations.
• Advise on ground improvement, foundations, shoring, piling, and earthworks.
• Supervise junior engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Carry out site inspections and monitoring (instruments, settlement, groundwater).
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities for compliance.
• Manage geotechnical risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare technical submissions and documentation for authority approvals.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards on geotechnical works.
• Support tender preparation with cost and technical input.
