Job summary

Hyphen Partners is scaling its finance function with a first dedicated controllership hire. This role is hands-on in a high-growth environment, building the finance function from scratch and preparing for the next fundraising.

You will own the close process end-to-end, establish controls, standardise revenue recognition across multi-year enterprise contracts, and work with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to ensure audit-ready financials.

Qualifications

• Big 4 trained with 4-8 years in industry, ideally in startup/scale-up/high-growth tech
• Strong IFRS/SFRS technical accounting capabilities
• Hands-on mindset as part of a founding finance team
• Experience in enterprise SaaS, fintech, or financial services is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Own the month/year-end close process and financial reporting
• Build and enforce financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks
• Drive revenue recognition across multi-year, high-value contracts
• IFRS/SFRS statutory reporting and regulatory compliance

We are partnering with a VC backed enterprise AI SaaS platform trusted by banks, insurers, and financial institutions internationally (incl. Europe & US) with significant growth momentum heading into Series B.

The company is making its first dedicated controllership hire as it scales toward its next fundraise. This is a high-ownership, technically rigorous role — built for someone who has thrived in a high-growth environment and knows what it takes to build a finance function from scratch. You will get the company audit-ready, establish controls, standardise revenue recognition across complex multi-year enterprise contracts, and own the close process end-to-end.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the month/year-end close process and financial reporting
• Build and enforce financial controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks
• Drive revenue recognition across multi-year, high-value enterprise contracts (banks and insurers)
• IFRS/SFRS statutory reporting and regulatory compliance
• Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel
• Partner with the VP Finance on FP&A, cash flow management, and Series B preparation

Ideal profile:

• Big 4 trained with a further 4-8 years experience in industry, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or high-growth technology company
• Strong technical accounting capability (IFRS/SFRS)
• Comfortable being hands-on - this is a founding finance team
• Enterprise SaaS, fintech, or financial services experience is a strong plus
