Job summary

Thomson Medical in Singapore is seeking a dynamic ESG, risk and compliance professional to support sustainability, enterprise risk management and governance initiatives across the Group. The role involves collaborating with multiple functions, driving policy development, and ensuring transparent reporting.

You will assist in risk assessments, maintain risk registers, coordinate KRIs, support data protection compliance, deliver governance training, and liaise with internal and external auditors

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, risk management or compliance.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, plus project management experience.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic team-player who is keen to join our team as with the following job responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Sustainability

• Help develop, implement, and continuously improve sustainability policies and procedures, and conduct materiality assessments.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement ESG initiatives that support the Group’s sustainability goals and improve resource efficiency.
• Support reporting on sustainability/ ESG matters to Sustainability Management Committees, Senior Management, and the Board, including managing secretariat duties for sustainability committees and taskforces.
• Assist in the production of sustainability reports, ensuring they are accurate, transparent, and compliant with reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, and SGX requirements including coordination of both internal and external assurance processes.
• Identify and evaluate potential ESG risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation and improvement.
• Monitor and report on the organization’s ESG performance to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, including managing ESG-related data and collaborating with departments to keep records accurate.
• Stay updated with international ESG frameworks, standards and industry best practices.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

• Support the implementation and enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management framework and processes to improve risk management capabilities and culture across different business units.
• Assist in reporting risk-related matters to Risk Management Committees, Senior Management, and the Board, including managing secretariat duties for these committees.
• Conduct risk assessments in line with the established ERM framework
• Support tracking and upkeep of the organisation’s risk registers to effectively identify, track, monitor, and address inherent and residual risks; and Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA).
• Collaborate with Risk Champions to collect, analyze, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and maintain accurate records.
• Support organisational risk culture initiatives (e.g. planning and execution of risk management education & training programs to enhance risk awareness, ERM workshops on risk and compliance assessment.)
• Facilitate horizon scanning of emerging risks, industry trends and regulatory developments that may impact the Group and healthcare sector.
• Aid in the development and implementation of new risk management tools and systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes. (e.g. Analyse risk-related data, develop risk analytics/dashboards to facilitate efficient risk monitoring and reporting across the Group.)

Compliance

• Provide advisory support to management and business units to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on market trends and regulatory compliance issues, including global developments that may impact business operations.
• Support the Group’s Personal Data Protection function, including policy updates, staff training, collaboration with the Digital Technology and other departments to ensure data security and confidentiality and provide secretariat support for data protection meetings.
• Maintain and revise compliance and governance policies and procedures, such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies, and support other legal and compliance functions.
• Conduct periodic compliance checks and assist in investigating and addressing compliance issues, including breaches of laws, regulations, policies, and contract management.
• Coordinate and deliver governance and compliance-related training programs.
• Provide advisory support to management and business units to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and support implementation of Group-wide new initiatives and projects
• Serve as liaison with internal and external auditors on risk management, compliance and ESG related matters.
• Willing to undertake meeting minute-taking duties.
• Undertake any other tasks which may be assigned on an ad-hoc basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline (e.g Environmental Science, CPA, accountancy, sustainablity etc).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Environmental Science, accounting, auditing, finance, risk management, compliance, ESG or sustainability reporting etc
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting and project management
• Self-driven and detail-oriented team player who is meticulous, organized and has strong analytical skills
• Positive attitude with strong collaboration skills and able to work independently in a fast- paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to interact well with different functions and levels.
